Carla’s nursing career ranges from acute to long-term care. She has worked in a Trauma 1 medical center, which included medical/surgical, medical/endocrine, medical/orthopedic, surgical/trauma, ICU, mom/baby, and same day surgery. Carla has provided long-term care for dementia patients, inpatient acute rehab, recovering stroke patients, and community hospital care. She has done most things “except for pediatrics.”
Carla holds an AS in Education from Brigham Young University and three additional associates degrees from Salt Lake Community College. She has a BS and MS in Nursing Leadership and Management from Western Governors University.
Carla enjoys directing student attention to specifics and discussing how the student will handle skills in certain settings. She is rewarded by seeing students put the training opportunities together, gain confidence in their abilities, enhance their self-esteem, and take pride in their skills.
Carla’s family are Jeepers and they get out of town to enjoy the mountain trails as much as possible. Carla also enjoys playing piano, hand work, gardening, and playing with her grandchildren.
