Dr. Crystal Young is the Program Director of the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Joyce University.
Crystal has teaching experience as a program director of OTA and an instructor of OTA.
Crystal has worked as an Occupational Therapy Assistant while performing duties as an instructor, and has extensive experience providing specialized therapies to adult and geriatric patients.
Crystal earned an AS in occupational therapy, BS in health science, MS in education and went on to earn a Ph.D. in education from Keiser University.
Crystal views teaching and learning as a reciprocal relationship between instructor and students. She believes she is responsible for providing students with a well-developed and ever-growing knowledge that helps them in their studies and critical thinking beyond the classroom. Additionally, students are responsible for being supportive of the teacher and fellow students, working hard, completing course assignments, and a willingness to bring life experiences to enrich discussions and understanding.
Crystal’s professional memberships include National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy, American Occupational Therapy Association, and Florida Occupational Therapy Association.
Crystal is a DIYer, taco-lover, health-and-wellness minded person. She enjoys practicing calligraphy, trying new restaurants, exploring new places, and fishing.
