Dr. Elizabeth Shively teaches Introduction to World Religions.
As an interdisciplinary scholar, Elizabeth has taught in higher education settings for 15 years. Her specialties include religious studies, women’s and gender studies, integrated and liberal studies, sociology, and political science.
Elizabeth earned an MA in Women’s and Gender Studies from George Washington University and a PhD in Comparative Studies from Ohio State University; her concentrations were in gender and religious studies.
Elizabeth finds that Joyce University students are thoughtful, hard-working, and conscientious. She shares her knowledge with the students, but learns from the students’ expertise, ideas, and theories, which makes her a better instructor and scholar in turn.
Elizabeth likes to exercise, hike, listen to podcasts, and read novels.
