Ronald Berendson provides a safe and realistic opportunity for students to participate in hands on simulation experience.
Ron has worked as a healthcare simulation educator at Joyce University for eight years.
Ron spent 30 years as a volunteer EMT followed by 14 years of emergency nursing.
Ron holds a Bachelor’s in Nursing and a Master’s in Nursing Education from Western Governors University. He is a certified healthcare simulation educator.
Ron likes to conduct the simulations and debrief them after. He enjoys when students have that “aha” moment as a concept becomes clear. Ron gets satisfaction seeing the progression of students’ skills and confidence over the semester.
Ron was named Utah ER Nurse of the Year in 2011.
Ron enjoys spending time with his family or working on his latest woodcarving project.
