How Our Hybrid Online Nursing Programs Work in Utah
At Joyce University, our Utah nursing programs are designed to combine the convenience of online learning with the essential hands-on training you need to succeed. Through our hybrid approach, you’ll complete your didactic coursework virtually using an interactive platform that features engaging lectures, collaborative discussions, and group projects. For students in our Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and Accelerated BSN (aBSN) programs, this online coursework is paired with in-person skill immersions held at our Joyce Johnson Center of Simulation near Salt Lake City.
You’ll visit campus three times throughout your program for intensive labs and simulation experiences. Your direct-care clinicals will be completed at healthcare facilities throughout Utah, giving you valuable real-world experience while staying close to home. This hybrid model allows you to benefit from both the flexibility of online learning and the collaborative support typically found in a traditional classroom.
For nursing students pursuing pre-licensure programs, building confidence through hands-on practice is a critical part of your education. At designated points in your ASN, BSN, or Accelerated BSN program, you’ll attend three immersive lab sessions at the Joyce Johnson Center of Simulation in Utah. This advanced facility offers 15,000 square feet of realistic clinical environments, allowing you to practice essential nursing skills on high-fidelity patient simulators before transitioning to direct patient care.
