Hybrid Nursing Programs Now Accessible Statewide
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (June 10, 2025) – Joyce University of Nursing and Health Sciences announced today that it is expanding its popular hybrid pre- and post-licensure nursing programs to South Dakota, providing students statewide the opportunity to pursue RN licensure in as few as 20 months.
In order to meet the growing national demand for nurses and healthcare providers, Joyce University has extended its reach beyond Utah, now serving students in 15 states. This latest expansion highlights the university’s continued dedication to meeting South Dakota’s critical demand for skilled nurses through innovative and flexible educational solutions.
“Bringing Joyce University’s proven nursing programs to South Dakota reflects our commitment to expanding opportunities for motivated learners,” said Josh Knotts, Interim President and CEO of Joyce University. “We’re excited to help students quickly enter the workforce equipped with the skills and confidence to make a real impact in healthcare.”
Students in South Dakota can now enroll in pre-licensure programs including the 20-month Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), traditional 3-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and the accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (aBSN). Additionally, post-licensure options include a fully online RN to BSN program and an MSN in Leadership.
The hybrid model combines online coursework with hands-on simulation experiences at the Joyce Johnson Center of Simulation in Draper, Utah, while clinical rotations are conveniently arranged locally within South Dakota.
Enrollment is now open for South Dakota students, with the next cohort starting on September 2, 2025.
