Joyce University Appoints Dr. Ilse Wallace as Provost and Chief Academic Officer

Experienced nursing educator and academic leader brings more than 20 years of experience advancing nursing education, academic quality and student success

SALT LAKE CITY, September 8, 2026 — Joyce University of Nursing and Health Sciences today announced the appointment of Ilse Wallace, PhD, RN, CNE, as Provost and Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Wallace brings more than 20 years of experience in nursing education and academic leadership, with a track record of strengthening curriculum quality and improving student outcomes at scale.

Dr. Wallace most recently served as Associate Provost and Executive Dean of Academic Quality at Chamberlain University, where she was a member of the university’s academic cabinet and led teams responsible for curriculum, assessment, clinical learning, faculty development and academic support. In that role, she helped oversee academic quality across programs serving more than 40,000 students and led initiatives focused on curriculum innovation, clinical education, technology integration and student success.

Throughout her career, Ilse has held progressively senior academic leadership roles, including Assistant Provost for University Curricula and Dean of Pre-Licensure BSN Programs at Chamberlain University. She previously served as Department Chair and professor at Palm Beach State College, where she led curriculum revisions and accreditation efforts focused on strengthening student outcomes and nursing education.

In her new role at Joyce, Dr. Wallace will focus on advancing academic quality, strengthening curriculum and clinical learning, and supporting student success. She also brings experience leading artificial intelligence initiatives, expanding academic support services and advancing competency-based education, work that will help Joyce continue evolving its programs as the needs of students and the healthcare workforce change.
