BSN90 prepares students for entry-level professional nursing practice through an integrated curriculum built on the AACN competency-based education framework, combining general education with nursing theory and hands-on clinical application. Courses are delivered in a hybrid format, blending online instruction with hands-on skill development through labs, simulations, and direct-care clinicals. Students build clinical judgment using advanced, human-like patient simulation technology, then apply that judgment directly in real clinical settings. Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to apply to take the NCLEX-RN, subject to state regulatory requirements.
BSN90 totals 90 credit hours: 37 in general education and 53 in nursing coursework. This fast-track pathway preserves the same core clinical coursework as Joyce’s traditional BSN, including Med-Surg, Maternal-Newborn, Pediatric, Mental Health, and Capstone/Preceptorship, while streamlining general education and select nursing electives into a more focused 90-credit path.
BSN90 integrates hands-on clinical practice, simulation immersions, and lab work throughout the program, not just at the end. Students complete 618.75 total clinical hours, including 411 hours of direct patient care, 73.3 indirect clinical hours, and 134.5 hours of advanced, human-like patient simulation, plus 270 lab hours building foundational technical skills. As part of the program, students travel to Joyce University’s Draper, Utah campus once, typically during the third semester, for hands-on clinical immersion at the Joyce Johnson Simulation Center.
