At Joyce University, you’ll experience the flexibility of having your lecture-based classes taught online, plus the valuable hands-on experience you get from in-person lab, simulation, and clinicals. Through experiential learning, you’ll work hands-on in guided, realistic simulations on lifelike, high-fidelity mannequins in our state-of-the-art simulation center and gain real-world experience in clinical settings.

Our ASN degree program is a 69-semester credit hours consisting of 75 weeks (5 semesters) and is offered as a blended program that combines on-ground lab, clinical, and simulation, with online coursework. Designed to prepare students for a career in nursing, the curriculum and program delivery gives students the foundational knowledge and experiential learning to enter the field of nursing as field-tested professionals.
Coursework will consist of lecture, laboratory, and clinical experiences. Students will learn how to be professional nurses caring for clients, families, and communities through theory and practical applications. General education courses are integrated into the program. Curriculum will be delivered in a blended format with the majority of coursework offered online.
Students have the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge in real-world scenarios through our state-of-the-art simulation center. With a focus on practical skill development, students will utilize our complex human patient simulators to enhance their critical thinking and clinical judgment skills to help them make the best client-centered decisions for safe care as future nurses.
Our ASN total program cost is based on 69 program credit hours. In May 2023, top earners in the field brought home over $132,680 a year, with a median annual wage of $86,070 a year.*

There are no prerequisites or CNA requirements prior to enrolling in the ASN program at Joyce. Our ASN program is built for career changers. General education is integrated throughout the nursing program, so you can start nursing courses sooner and stay on a streamlined path to RN licensure. Our ASN is a hybrid associates nursing program: asynchronous online lectures for flexibility paired with in-person labs, high-fidelity simulation, and direct-care clinicals in your location. You’ll train in our state-of-the-art simulation center, which is recognized for its high-fidelity training, so you can build real-world skills and clinical confidence before day one on the floor.
Finish in about 20 months with 69 credits and 472.5 direct-care clinical hours, often 100 – 160+ more hours than many two-year associate nursing programs. More clinical immersion means sharper clinical judgment, stronger hands-on skills, and a smoother transition from classroom to bedside.
We enroll residents from CO, ID, KY, OH, OK, OR, MI, MO, NM, NV, SC, SD, TX, UT, and WI. All direct-care clinicals occur in the student’s home state, typically within ~100 miles of your location. While you train, you will build a strong professional network through our network of respected hospitals and community partners. You will be expected to come to the Joyce campus for a week during the semesters that have simulated clinical experiences and skills labs.
Joyce’s RN program is a 69 credit Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree. In as little as 20 months, students prepare for and take the NCLEX exam and can begin their careers as licensed RNs.
