Dr. McKinney facilitates online nursing instruction for undergraduate students at Joyce University.
Dr. McKinney has worked in nursing education since 2008. Since then, she has filled education roles both online and in person at a variety of colleges and universities.
Dr. McKinney has more than 20 years of nursing experience, including 5 and half years as an army nurse. Her clinical experience is in medical surgical nursing, internal medicine, neurology & stroke, and combat nursing. She worked in Baghdad, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Dr. McKinney is honored to be able to affect the healthcare industry by educating the new nurses that will help eliminate the nursing shortage. She also enjoys collaborating with faculty to create an engaging learning experience.
Dr. McKinney has a BSN from Florida A&M University, an MSN in Nursing Education from Walden University, and has completed all but her dissertation for a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Walden University.
Dr. McKinney likes to travel, binge watch Netflix and Hulu TV shows, and spend quality time with her family.
