Celebrate National Nurse Day

Salt Lake City — Fox13 NOW reports that Utah nurses and nursing students can celebrate National Nurse Day with a free drink or cookie, thanks to a special offer from Joyce University and Swig. National Nurse Day is observed on May 6, marking the beginning of Nurse Week, which runs from May 6 to May 12 each year. This day also coincides with the birthday of Florence Nightingale, who is celebrated for introducing modern nursing.

Zach Rideout, Lead Clinical Faculty for Joyce University of Nursing and Health Sciences, shared details about this year’s celebration and how they are honoring nurses. He emphasized the crucial role that nurses play as the frontline of healthcare in hospitals and medical offices worldwide.

To show appreciation, Joyce University partnered with Swig to offer a free 24 oz. drink or a cookie to all nurses and nursing students throughout Utah. The offer is available on Friday, May 6, 2022, at any Swig location. Nurses simply need to show their nurse badge to receive their treat.

Joyce University, formerly known as Ameritech College, recently rebranded to better reflect its mission, values, and the excellence of its staff and students. The new name highlights the importance of the nursing community and reinforces Utah’s reputation for having some of the top nursing schools in the country.
