Dr. Bob Vega is the program director for the Respiratory Therapy Associate of Science program at Joyce University.
Early in his healthcare career, Dr. Vega was focused on clinical practice and management of clinical operations within acute care, home care, and outpatient clinics. As a mid-level and senior manager in health care organizations, his primary responsibilities involved organizational operations, project development, quality assurance, and continuing education
Dr. Vega received an undergraduate degree in respiratory therapy and health science and went on to earn a master’s degree in management and business administration. In 2004, he completed his first doctoral degree in management and organizational leadership. Currently, Dr. Vega is finishing his second doctoral degree in Education with a concentration in organizational change and leadership.
After twenty years of healthcare management experience, Dr. Vega moved to education and began teaching business administration, management, and health care courses as an adjunct faculty member for local and online universities.
Over the last fifteen years, he has held director positions within higher education for undergraduate and graduate programs.
As a research author, Dr. Vega received a 1st place research award for co-authoring an article on Hyperbaric Medicine, while also authoring other published works in health care, and management.
As an avid water sports enthusiast, including surfing, sailing, and scuba diving, Dr. Vega lives in Hawaii and works remotely so that he can maintain a lifestyle that is centered around family and the ocean.
