Dr. Watkins promotes faculty and student success through the advancement of new initiatives and best practices for teaching and learning.
Dr. Watkins has worked in higher education since 2010, during which time she has been an academic counselor, a faculty member teaching primarily Psychology, Sociology, and Communications, the Director of General Education, and the Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning.
Learning about learning is engaging and exciting. Dr. Watkins loves sharing her passion for education with both students and employees. She believes in the transformational power of education and enjoys watching students grow through their educational journey. Dr. Watkins structures her courses to include a variety of active learning tasks that will engage students and support their learning.
Dr. Watkins has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from the University of Utah and a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Phoenix. She earned her Doctorate in Human and Organizational Psychology from Touro University Worldwide.
Dr. Watkins loves music and engages with it by listening to Spotify, singing karaoke, or playing the piano. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her husband and kids.
